This was the last session we played, at the end of 2009. After almost four years, the group members wanted a break.

Cavell offered to run a few Final Fantasy RPG sessions, which lasted a whole year. It is now March 2012 and I have been back to GMing for just over a year. The group wanted to start something a little different, having lost the feel for this campaign, but I am still hopeful that we may return to it, however, for now (and the last year) we are/have been playing a Sci-Fi Space Master: Privateers RPG campaign (also by Iron Crown Enterprises).

I have no intention of blogging this campaign if we restart it. That may change, depending on circumstances, and the Sci-Fi campaign won’t be blogged for sure.

Thank you to those of you who have come and gone, checking/reading this blog.

With no exit available to them to give the injured members Hanu and Asmodeus a breather to recover, the party decide to follow the tunnel the orcs appeared from prior to the attack. Cavell and Hanu move slowly, compensating for the injured female warrior as they carry the unpeeled vegetable, Asmodeus along the tunnel. While vegetables are best fresh, this one weighs a ton and ten hours of carrying would only get them a short distance.

After the orcs fled Asmodeus’ insightful use of magic along with the natural properties of the cave tunnel, the party decided to finish off their rest period before continuing. Getting a full night’s sleep (or meditation for Elves) is important in RolemasterFRP. It provides time for recovery of hit points, exhaustion points and power points, but most important of all, it gives Cavell time to wake up after falling asleep in the first place.

In this gaming session we will see the PCs flying, walking into traps and taking forever to beat down a few measly low level orcs in yet another flooded cave. Let the games begin …

The party continues to follow the deepening cave tunnel, coming to an apparent dead end. The cave ceiling comes down sharply here and the tunnel is submerged with water blocking their progress. They estimate they are under Churnett River – quite deeply in fact, which would account for all the water seepage here.

A Dead End?

A Dead End?

What are they to do now? Head back or try and continue? The orcs can get past this point, which is, assuming they haven’t missed a possible exit.

The Ghostly Minstrel in Delver’s Square is a well know inn catering to the needs of adventurers.

The two ladies of the party sleep in a nice comfortable room, separate from the men and away from the occasional foul smell that emanates from them. The only problem is that in the morning they have to go to the smelly and cramped boys’ room so that they can talk as a group. “Let’s find the portal that brought us to this world.” Dralen has remembered he can use a memory spell to enhance his recall of past events so it shouldn’t be too hard to locate.

By the way, Rikku is back! Well, at least for this session – his player has returned during his midyear Uni holidays. This should be good…

Ha! I had already created a draft of this post months ago, but I forgot all about it. What with winter illnesses and players going overseas or into the big smoke, or just plain school camps for a week, we have all been missing our Rolemaster RPG.

Do you feel the title of this blog captures the essence of a massive cleanup job?

While strictly true, the group of adventurers sure are deep inside some ruins and they are surely located in The Thornwood forest, however, I must say that the cleanup after a wild bunch of murderous party goers have had their fun, this title just doesn’t cut the mustard!

Poor old Cavell will never get the job done, what with the constant interruptions by the undead. And where the hell are they coming from?

Let’s see if I can shed some light on the subject …

The prospect of death is something we all must face, even for the mighty Paladin of Kuor, Cavell.

The party journey with the young (though not much younger than some in the group) Lyntern to the river town of Thurmaster. Feeling he is finally free from his father and keeping his promise to the adventurers, Lyntern divulged the secret of Broken Spire Keep as they walked SW along the road. Arriving at Thurmaster some militia of Count Parlfray noticed Lyntern without his usual complement of body guards and so press their concerns asking him why he is alone. The discussion soon stops when their concerns are met with lies. The militia take Lyntern into their hands and prepare to return to Parlfray’s Keep. Cavell’s original concerns that the boy was leaving home without his father’s permission were apparently true. Lucky for the party that these guards appeared when they did, the missing boy might have been interpreted as a kidnapping!

This session has been logically split over two posts. This being the second part, part (b) and the first being the other part, part (a).

Today is Kingsday, the 18th day of the month of Wind in the year 721 of the Imperial Age and the brave adventurers can’t but help for popping off little jokes. It is two days shy of a month now before Kodos get full use of his left leg.

Today, the world of the PCs is peaceful. Tomorrow, however, is another story altogether and that will be told here.
